Excerpt | Born in the village of Berevoieşti, from the Muscel region, Mihai Tican Rumano was a Romanian writer who, from 1959 until his death, donated to the museum of Câmpulung Muscel a number of approximately 200 paintings and sculptures signed by Romanian artists, who led to the foundation of the museum’s Art Gallery. Based on letters and acts from the archival collection dedicated to Mihai Tican Rumano, which is found at the National Archives of Romania, the article has two objectives: to present, on the one hand, aspects concerning the donation, such as the conditions in which it was made, and on the other hand, the problems which arose between Mihai Tican Rumano and the museum governance due to his belief that the collection was not properly administrated. |
