Abstract	In the present study, we analyze a charter, issued by Mihail I Suţu, the voivode of Wallachia, in March 1784, in favour of the boyar Parascheva Hagi Gheciu, in order to confirm his ownership over the estates Belitori and Peretu, in Teleorman county, bought from Stanca Paladoaia, the wife of Matei Palada. The document is important in content - as it reveals legal aspects related to dowry, inheritance, preemption - but especially in form, being decorated, in the uper part of the frontispiece, with the icon of the Synaxis of the Holy Angels. With this act, the number of charters decorated with icons - a special categoryb of illuminated official documents - increases to over 120, showing the existence of a Christian society and state ideology.
