Abstract | Milan Rastislav Stefanick, French general born in Slovakia, was one of the founders of the Czechoslovak Republic. During the First World War, he tried to create a Czechoslovak brigade in order to liberate his Motherland by enrolling Slovak prisoners from Romanian camps. This story tells as well his unexpected postmortem connection with Paulhan, a small village of Languedoc, in the south of France. |
