| Abstract | Romanian-Egyptian relations developed between the ‘50s and the ‘60s, but their "golden age" was the decade between 1971 and 1981, during the presidency of Anwar Sadat. During this period the Romanian diplomacy negotiated informal meetings between the representatives of the two states. Furthermore, Nicolae Ceausescu had a major influence on the Egyptian president’s historic decision to visit Jerusalem (1977). |
