| Abstract | The paper presents the Romanian-Egyptian diplomatic and economic relations during the 1980s. The Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak, visited Romania several times and met Nicolae Ceauşescu. Although the Romanian leader tried to negotiate the restoration of diplomatic relations between Egypt and a few Arab states such as Jordan and Kuwait, he did not succeed. |
