| Abstract |
This article presents some aspects regarding the process of collectivization of Romanian agriculture. This process was started when the communists took over the political power in 1948. Even from the beginning, the main feature of the collectivization was its violent side. Thus we reproduced the text of an extremely suggestive document from this point of view. During an audience at the leader of the Romanian Working Party, Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej, a group of peasants from Soimuş, Cluj county, described the brutality used to force the people in order to accept their participation in the socialist agricultural structures. |
